BBQ Chicken Burger

I am officially posting my first dummy proof (aka Madelon burn proof) recipe!

BBQ Chicken Burger
  • 1 can of chicken-drained
  • 1/4 large white onion-chopped
  • 6-8oz. of BBQ sauce (see below for my homemade BBQ recipe)
  • 2 pieces of mozzerella string cheese-broken into small chunks.
  • 2 wheat buns
  • Mayonaise for each bun-optional

Using two forks divide chicken into smaller pieces. Mix with BBQ sauce.
In a medium skillet grill onions until golden brown. Add chicken to the skillet and stir in to mix with onions. Once the chicken is warm add the cheese. Mix all together until cheese is gooey and chicken is heated all the way through. (<OPTIONAL> Spread mayo on each bun.) Then spoon desired amount of chicken and onion mixture onto each bun. Enjoy!

(I think it would be good with pickles, but Kevin is not a fan of pickles on his burgers)

Homemade BBQ Sauce
  • 1 (12oz) bottle barbeque sauce
  • 1/2 cup Italian salad dressing
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons A-1 Steak Sauce
Mix all ingredients together in a medium mixing bowl.
(Cut in half for recommended amount in above recipe)
